I’ll never forget that one time I brought you a store-bought gift because I didn’t have the time or resources to make something myself. You tried so hard to act happy about it, and I appreciated your effort. But deep down, I knew you cherished the handmade gifts more because they were an extension of me. Missing Mom and the Tools for Life

Granny, as much as I miss you, I must admit that I miss my mom the most. Life hasn’t been the same since she was called home. Even though she gave me all the tools I needed to survive in this world, there was one tool she couldn’t give me: how to live without her. I’m sure she had no idea that she would be called home so soon, to prepare a place for her siblings and for you.

Mom’s love, wisdom, and guidance have been my compass, but her absence has left a void that nothing can fill. Yet, I know she’s proud of the life I’ve built, of my siblings, and of the children we’re raising. Her legacy is alive in us, in our perseverance, and in the love we share. Granny, I’m so grateful for the role you played in shaping my mom, and by extension, me and my family.

Granny, your memory is my strength on difficult days. When life feels overwhelming, I think of your resilience and your ability to find joy in the simplest things. You taught me that even in the face of adversity, there is always something to be grateful for. Your life was a testament to that belief, and it’s a lesson I carry with me always.
